ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: Please be advised that a complete roadway closure is scheduled for 145th Place Southeast between Southeast 16th Street and Southeast 24th Street. It will start at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16 and continue until 6 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012. There may be a need to close Saturday, May 19, as well. The road closure is needed for crews to do paving work along 145th Place SE. This closure will be the last one for this project, as it is expected to be complete next month.
Signed detours will direct users to 148th Avenue Southeast via Southeast 16th Street or Southeast 24th Street. The bus stops within the closure limits will be temporary relocated to SE 16th and SE 24th street.
In 2007 the city made major improvements to 145th Place Southeast between Southeast Eighth and Southeast 16th streets, adding bike lanes, sidewalks, a median and landscaping. This summer the city will continue transforming 145th Place, adding bike lanes, sidewalks and medians, along with a center turn lane between Southeast 16th and Southeast 24th streets. Southeast 22nd Street will also be improved between 145th Place Southeast and 156th Avenue Southeast.

Planned Improvements
- Five-foot-wide bike lanes;
- Six-foot-wide sidewalks;
- Two-way center left-turn lane; and
- Planted median islands, irrigation and landscaping.
In addition, the traffic signal and the curb ramps at the intersection of 145th Place and 24th Street will be improved and a six-foot-wide sidewalk will be added on the north side of Southeast 22nd Street. A new stormwater conveyance system will be installed, as will street lighting and two mid-block crosswalks.
