Bellevue Botanical Garden

The Bellevue Botanical Garden features cultivated display gardens, natural wetlands and a woodland trail. The mission of the 53-acre garden is to develop, maintain and display plant collections in a park setting for horticultural demonstration, education and passive recreation.

On March 4, 2013, the City Council approved the contract for the Bellevue Botanical Garden's new Education Center and Visitor center - view information sheet, construction FAQs and construction project web page. Join us for the groundbreaking ceremony, Tuesday, April 23, 3:30 p.m. at the Shorts Visitor Center.

DURING CONSTRUCTION: The Bellevue Botanical Garden will be under construction until the Fall of 2014. The Garden will remain open during this time.

To get to the temporary entrance, take I-405 to NE 8th Street, heading east. Turn right on 124th Avenue NE. Follow 124th Avenue NE for a half mile to the Wilburton Hill Park entrance at the bend in the road. Follow the signs within the park directing you to the trail that leads to the Garden. It is a 1/3-mile walk to the Garden's Visitor Center on a well-marked, flat, gravel-surfaced trail.

The Dahlia Garden is a seasonal feature at the Botanical Garden

With 300,000 visitors a year, the garden is one of the city's most popular destinations – the perfect place for a quiet moment to enjoy the beauty of the Northwest. Docents offer guided tours, providing details about the plants and displays. The Bellevue Botanical Garden opened in 1992 and thrives because of strong community support, including a partnership between the city and the Bellevue Botanical Garden Society (BBGS). Lost and Found - please contact the Garden Office at 425-452-2750, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hours: The Garden is open daily, including holidays, from dawn to dusk. The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. During Garden d'Lights, the Garden and Visitor Center are open until 9:30 p.m.

Accessibility: A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available in the Garden's main parking lot. Our Visitor Center is accessible, including accessible restrooms. Map of Accessible Trails

Photography at the Garden: All facility or photography scheduling for the Bellevue Botanical Garden is done through the Volunteer Program Coordinator. Call 425-452-2750 or email BBGRentals@bellevuewa.gov to inquire about ees, hours, rules or to request a rental form.

Rental Facilities: Garden-sponsored programs comprise the majority of building use. Sorry, no private parties or weddings. Please enjoy the first-come, first-served tables in the picnic area adjacent to the parking lot.

Dogs and Other Pets in the Garden: Please note that other than service animals, dogs and other pets are not allowed at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.

Weddings: We are not able to accommodate weddings or other private parties at this time. Contact the Garden Office at 425-452-2750 if you are interested in wedding photography.
