Strengthening Preparedness Among Neighbors (SPAN)
Pooling skills and supplies among neighbors improves everyone's ability to cope with an emergency. Bellevue's Strengthening Preparedness Among Neighbors (SPAN) program assists residents who want to organize their neighborhoods and obtain information and training. (Training for businesses is also available.)
SPAN is intended for community groups, schools and businesses. Groups are divided into response teams focused on such things as damage assessment, first aid or search and rescue, and trained accordingly. Getting Ready... is a complete guide to be used in conjunction with neighborhood organization efforts.
No classes are currently scheduled. If you have any questions regarding training opportunities, please contact Vernon Owens (425-452-6033 or VOwens@bellevuewa.gov).
