Emergency Preparedness Volunteers
For several years, the Emergency Preparedness Division has had a very active group of talented and committed volunteers. These are individuals from all walks of life and ages who have an interest and desire to help our community in its overall emergency preparedness efforts. There are more than 75 citizens who dedicate their personal time to volunteer with the emergency preparedness division.
Interested individuals complete a volunteer application and an Oath of Confidentiality. This process allows participants to be recognized as a volunteer of the City's emergency management program, which in turn offers certain liability protections while at service during emergency situations. Applicants are also asked to agree to a Police background check, based on the fact that they may be involved in the transmission of confidential information or use of City property or facilities. After successful completion of this process, a City of Bellevue Volunteer ID car will be issued.
