The Bellevue Youth Theatre is dedicated to providing opportunities in drama for all young people, ages 8 to 19. People with disabilities, families and older adults are also encouraged to participate. The focus of the theater is to build self-esteem, teamwork and confidence while peforming in a supportive environment. For more information, please call 425-452-7155.

Preregistration is not allowed. YOU MUST AUDITION TO BE IN BELLEVUE YOUTH THEATRE PROGRAMS. Auditions are open to ages 8 and up. There is no need to prepare anything for the audition. Participants 18 and older are required to have a current Washington State Patrol background check on file at the theatre. These are good for one year.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Auditions for Pinocchio will be held on Jan. 20 at South Bellevue Community Center from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Last Unicorn
This show has great parts for teens and adults. The show is much like the cartoon, and many parts are available for all ages. There is singing and some dancing.

Rehearsal location - Bellevue Youth Theatre
Rehearsal begins - Monday, Jan. 31
Rehearses - Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Performances - Bellevue Youth Theatre, March 25 to April 3

Pinocchio
This is a different look of the classic tale of Pinocchio. This show has parts for all. Actors must be available the week of productions.

Rehearsal location - South Bellevue Community Center
Rehearsal begins - Monday, Jan. 31
Rehearses - Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Performances - Bellevue Youth Theatre, April 15 to April 23

Cinderella
This is a classic retelling of the Cinderella story, working from an earlier BYT script. This is not the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, nor is it Disney. This script is fun and has good parts for all. There is singing and some dancing.

Rehearsal location - Crossroads Community Center
Rehearsal begins - Monday, Jan. 31
Rehearses - Monday through Friday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Performances - Meydenbauer Theatre, April 29 to May 1

A Midsummer Night's Dream
Teens, this one's for you! BYT will reprise Shakespeare's most popular comedy. This lightning-quick romp will be performed in the Bard's own language (well, mostly...). There are great parts for lovers, fairies, sprites and buffoons!

Rehearsal location - Bellevue Youth Theatre
Rehearsal begins - Monday, January 31
Rehearses - Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Performances - Bellevue Youth Theatre, May 6 to 15

Fees

Ages 8-18 fees: $0 (Bellevue residents) / $85 (Non-residents)
Ages 19+ fees*: $35 (Bellevue residents) / $120 (Non-residents)

* Please note: Adults are charged an additional $35 regardless of residency. Exceptions to the adult fee are students (19-24 years old only), disabled adults, older adults, and active registered BYT volunteers who volunteer for five or more hours for the season they are participating in.
